Emergency Medical Service In-Car Activated (Switch ‘n’), EMS In-car (Switch ‘n’)
(n = 1 or 2)
Description: EMS In-Car service activated via in-car EMS key-switch. Also referred to as EMS Phase II.
Car Reaction: Car out of hall call service. Car calls enabled again, car can be dispatched with car calls only.
After answering car call, doors open automatically, close with constant pressure on Door Close Button only.
Troubleshooting:
1. Terminate EMS In-Car by taking car to EMS recall floor by registering a car call then deactivating in-car
EMS switch.
2. In-Car operation can also be terminated by removing in-car EMS switch from pre-programmed IO.
3. Related inputs: EMSCarSwitch0: Normally low, EMSCarSwitch1: Normally low
Emergency Medical Service Recall Activated (Switch ‘n’), EMS Recall (Switch ‘n’)
(n = 1 or 2)
Description: EMS recall activated via one of EMS recall key-switches located next to EMS elevator. This is also
referred to as the EMS Phase I operation.
Car Reaction: Momentary activation of EMS recall switch initiates recall to EMS Recall floor. Car removes itself
from car and hall call service. At EMS recall floor, door operation per user-defined door operation under EMS
recall. Car remains on EMS Phase I as long as hall switch activated. Once hall switch deactivated, car returns
to normal operation after user-defined timer elapses if in-car switch not activated within that time.
Troubleshooting:
1. Verify no hall EMS recall switch activated.
2. EMS Recall operation can also be terminated by removing in-car EMS switch from pre-programmed IO.

Emergency Power Activated
Description: Commercial power has been lost and power is now supplied by an emergency power generator.
Car Reaction: Car makes emergency stop due to momentary loss of power and remains shut down until com-
manded to lower to pre-determined floor or proceed to next available floor. Once all cars have reached a
floor, one or more cars will be selected to run on emergency power.
Troubleshooting:
1. Related inputs: EPI: Active level field adjustable.
Emergency Power and no communication with group, EMERG PWR NO COMM
Description: iControl has detected an emergency power condition and it has not established communication
with emergency power supervisor (typically a group controller).
Car Reaction: Car is not allowed to move to prevent overloading emergency power generator. If car is mov-
ing when event occurs, car will make an emergency stop. motor contactor and brake contactor are immedi-
ately dropped. The car is also shut down (calls and all other demands are canceled).
Troubleshooting:
1. If the system is NOT operating under emergency power, refer to job prints and verify wiring to controller
Emergency Power status input.
2. Verify correct input state (high/low) on iView/Car Operation/Emergency Power/EPI Input setting.
3. Check group to car communication.
Emergency Power Deactivated.

Description: This event is logged when commercial power is restored.

Emergency Power Recall, EMERG POWER RECALL

Description: Event logged when elevator commanded to lower to emergency power recall floor.
Car Reaction: Elevator proceeds to user-defined emergency power recall floor. Door operation at recall floor
per user defined door operation under emergency power recall conditions.

EPR: Normally low (high to lower the car)
PTR: Normally low (low to lower the car)
