Troubleshooting
Power Up Position Synchronization Required at Terminal
Description: Position synchronization at terminal landing required after power-up/reset. Power up synchro-
nization occurs if elevator required to synchronize before power lost, controller reset, or synchronization
information in battery backed SRAM is invalid.
Car Reaction: The elevator will synchronize at a terminal landing.
Troubleshooting:
1. Battery may need to be changed.
2. Check for faulty SRAM.Check for SRAM not correctly inserted in socket.
3. Check for faulty iBox.
Pre-start Door Lock Fault
Description: Once decision to move is made, three acknowledgments (motion start, door lock, drive start)
required before movement allowed. If so configured, pre-start sequencing begins while doors closing. If door
lock acknowledgement not received within 15 seconds (after pre-start sequence begun, fault is generated.
Car Reaction: Pre-start sequence will stop and the sequence will repeat. If the fault persists, an excessive
restarts fault will occur.
Troubleshooting:
1. Verify doors (front and/or rear) become locked within the prescribed time.
2. Verify, iView Diagnostics - Motion, system sees doors closing/locking within prescribed time. Informa-
tion reflects front and rear door status.
3. Verify, Diagnostics - Car Operation - Front/Rear, system sees front/rear doors closing/locking within pre-
scribed time.
Primary Fire Switch Bypass, PRI FIRE SWITCH BYP
Description: The primary fire switch is in the Bypass position.
Car Reaction: According to selected Fire Code.
Troubleshooting:
1. Check the primary fire recall switch inputs.
Primary Fire Switch On, PRI FIRE SWITCH ON
Description: The primary fire switch is in the On position.
Car Reaction: Car will recall to Main fire recall floor, position doors as directed on Car Operation/Fire/Modify/
Fire Recall screen, and wait for activation of in-car firefighter switch.
Troubleshooting: If in error, check the Primary Fire Recall Switch input.
QPRAM Device Error, QPRAM DEVICE ERROR
Description: Safety Processor A problem writing to QPRAM device.
Car Reaction: Emergency stop: Motor contactor and brake contactor immediately dropped.
Troubleshooting:
1. Replace QPRAM on Safety Processor A. Contact MCE.
Rear Door Close Fault, REAR DOOR CLOSE FAULT
Description: One or more rear door failures to close detected. Controller attempts to close doors as defined
by parameters (door close protection timer and number of attempts) before declaring fault. iView Car Oper-
ation/Doors tab.
Car Reaction: Doors will reopen fully. Car calls canceled and car removes itself from hall call service (hall
calls assigned to car are canceled or reassigned). Doors close using constant pressure on door close button.
Troubleshooting:
1. Door closed status is determined by rear door close limit and rear door position monitor contact.
2. Check the wiring of these signals.
3. Check the door close protection timer and number of closing attempts on the Operation/Doors tab.
