Defibrillator/Monitor Operator’s Manual
When the equipment is moved from one place to another, condensation may occur as a result of temperature or
humidity difference. In this case, never start the system before the condensation disappears.
NOTE
•
Make sure that the operating environment of the equipment meets the specific requirements.
Otherwise unexpected consequences, e.g. damage to the equipment, could result.
•
The equipment use a mains plug as isolation means to the mains power supply. Do not locate the
equipment in a place difficult to operate the mains plug.
3.2
Basic Operation
3.2.1
Connecting the AC Mains
The equipment is powered by AC power supply. Before connecting the equipment to the AC mains, check that
the voltage and frequency ratings of the power line are the same as those indicated besides the AC power input.
1.
Connect the female end of the power cord with the AC power input.
2.
Connect the male end of the power cord with a wall AC outlet.
3.
Check that the power indicator is on.
The AC power indicator is off if the AC mains is not connected. When AC mains is connected, the AC power
indicator is illuminated in green.
WARNING
•
Always use the accompanying power cord delivered with the equipment.
•
Before connecting the equipment to the AC mains, check that the voltage and frequency ratings of
the power line are the same as those indicated besides the AC power input.
•
Use the cable retainer to secure the power cord to prevent it from falling off.
•
Use the battery if the integrity of the protective earth conductor or the protective earthing system in
the installation is in doubt.
3.2.2
Installing the Battery
The equipment is designed to operate on battery power when external power supply is not available. For more
information, refer to
3.2.3
Turning On the Equipment
Before turning on the equipment, perform the following inspections:
1.
Check for any mechanical damage and make sure that all external cables and accessories are properly
connected.
2.
Connect the power cord to the AC power source. If you run the equipment on battery power, ensure that
the battery is sufficiently charged. If you run the equipment on DC power supply, a DC/AC adapter we
supply should be used.
To turn on the equipment, turn the Mode Select knob to the desired mode.
After the start-up screen is displayed, the equipment gives a beep, and meanwhile, the alarm lamp is illuminated
in yellow, and then turns red, and then turns off.

If the equipment is turned on by entering the AED mode or Manual Defib mode, the alarm
s
ystem is
off
when the alarm lamp turns off.
■
If the equipment is turned on by entering the Pacer mode or Monitor m ode, the alarm system is activated
when the alarm lamp turns off.
