Turning the Power OFF
Check the following items when turning the power OFF.
• If the machine is receiving data from the PC or if there is any data that has not been output yet
• If the head has returned to the capping station
• If any error has occurred (
P.5-13 ”Error Messages”)
1
Turn OFF the power of the connected PC.
2
Turn OFF the power supply of the media feeding system
side.
• When you rotate the power lever switch to the [OFF] side,
the power supply becomes OFF.
• By turning OFF the power supply of the media feeding side,
you can also turn OFF the power supply of the printer side.
Do not turn off the power of this machine as much as possible.
• If turned off, ink may adhere to the head nozzle surface and it may prevent nozzle clogging being
improved.
If turning off by necessity, work from Step 1 to 8 of P.4-8 “Cleaning the Head Nozzles”, fill the cleaning
liquid in the cap, and then turn the power off.
• In the control characteristics of this machine, if the power is turned off for more than 12 hours, ink may
gradually be discharged from the head nozzle even if the head is capped.
If ink is discharged from the nozzle, the color of ink may be mixed with ink of adjacent nozzles in the
same head.
Once ink is mixed in the nozzle, ink must be filled in the head again, thus much remaining ink may go
to waste.
Even if it is not used for a long time, do not turn off the power as much as possible.
• If the power is turned off while printing, the head may fail to be retracted in the capping station. If the
head is left without capped for an extended period of time, ink may drip.
• If the power to the printer is turned off without the head capped, re-turn on the power to the printer.
The head is retracted in the capping station, preventing the ink dripping.
