5 SmartDGA System Installation
5.1 SmartDGA Instrument
5.1.1 Parts and Tools for the SmartDGA Instrument
Ensure you have the following items on hand prior to starting installation.

5.1.2 Mounting the SmartDGA Instrument
Now that the valve installation is complete, you are ready to install the SmartDGA instrument.
1. Remove the protective cap and two plugs (do not remove serial tag). Save for future use.
2. Position the SmartDGA instrument vertically so that the mounting ring can align and fasten
onto the SmartDGA instrument.
Note: Although not required, an additional person is helpful for this step. One person
can hold the SmartDGA instrument into position while the other fastens the mounting
ring onto the SmartDGA instrument.
3. Fasten the mounting ring onto the SmartDGA instrument until hand-tight.
4. After hand-tightening, use a 3-3/4” face spanner wrench to tighten the mounting ring until
it cannot move any further.
