3.2.3 Confirm Mounting/Location for EZHub
The EZHub unit provides power and communications for the SmartDGA system. The EZHub can be
mounted in a substation control building, a transformer control cabinet, or a NEMA4X enclosure
mounted on a wall or on a Unistrut stand.
Note:
If mounting in a NEMA4X enclosure, keep environmental conditions in mind.
Direct sunlight can cause temperatures to reach above the maximum rated ambient
temperature of 55 °C.

Confirm EZHub Type & Location
1. Confirm that the EZHub shipped for your system is correct by verifying that it has LTC,
Transformer, or both sets of connections.

2. Confirm distance from the EZHub installation location to the SmartDGA instrument
installation location is less than 30 m (98 ft).
Note: A standard 10 m (32 ft) outdoor weather (- 20 … 150 °C) cable is provided with the
SmartDGA system. The EZHub may be located up to 30 m (98 ft) away from the
SmartDGA instrument. Additional lengths (20 m and 30 m) as well as cold weather (rated
- 50 … 125 °C) cables of 10 m, 20 m, and 30 m are available to order from LumaSense.
3. Ensure the conduit for the connection cable between the EZHub and SmartDGA instrument
is present.
