4. Insert the connectors into the appropriate slots:
Left – LTC Side
SmartDGA Gauge Instrument
Right – Transformer Side
SmartDGA Guide or Guard Instrument
To connect an LTC (Gauge) Instrument (Left Side of EZHub):
a. Connect the 6-pin into the LTC Power slot located on the bottom left of the EZHub.
Tighten the 2 connector screws with a small Flathead screwdriver.
b. Connect the 4-pin Phoenix connector into the RS485 LTC slot located next to the
Transformer Instrument Power slot on the bottom left of the EZHub. Tighten the 2
connector screws with a small Flathead screwdriver.
To connect a transformer - SmartDGA Guard/Guide instrument (Right Side of EZHub):
a. Connect the 6-pin Phoenix connector into the Transformer Power slot located on
the bottom right of the EZHub. Tighten the 2 connector screws with a small
Flathead screwdriver.
b. Connect the 4-pin Phoenix connector into the RS485 Transformer Power slot
located next to the Transformer Instrument Power slot on the bottom right of the
EZHub. Tighten the 2 connector screws with a small Flathead screwdriver.
5. The shield drain wire should be insulated and terminated with the supplied ring lug. Fasten
the ring lug to the SmartDGA EZHub controller’s ground terminal.
Note: The ring lug should be between the star washer and securing nut (pictured on the
right). Tighten fully so the star washer cuts through the paint to make a good electrical
contact with the EZHub housing. The cable is not grounded at the DGA unit side and
must be grounded at the EZHub side.
