Chapter 20 uEASE Flash Writer System
20-2
20.3 Method of writing to the Flash memory
The code data size generated by the development tool is 16kByte. When you write the code data to the flash memory,
you have to remove unused address region and test region. The steps explain an example of writing to the ML610Q471
flash memory.
1) From the Start menu, select”All programs” >”U8 Tools”>”nX-U8”>”Command-line environment” icon to open
the U8 command prompt.
2) On the U8 command prompt, by using CD command, move to the folder which “the complete HEX data” is
located in.
3) On the U8 command prompt, execute HTU command
.
Example:
HTU8 ML610Q471.hex /AL(0000H, 1EFFH, 0000H) ML610Q471.hex /AL(3D00H, 3DFFH, 1F00H)
/TML610471
In the above example, the input file is ML610Q471.hex, and the target device is ML610Q471.
If the conversion process is finished normally, the two ROM code data files ( ML610Q471RA.hex,
ML610Q471RB.hex) and the log file ( ML610Q471RA.log ) are generated.
4) Write the ROM code data file to the ML610Q471 flash memory by using “FWuEASE Flash Writer”.
For details of HTU8, see “HTU8 User’s Manual”.
For details of “FWuEASE Flash Writer”, see “FWuEASE Flash Writer Host Program User’s Manual”.
