Setting a Password

Whenever you connect the oscilloscope to a LAN, it is good practice to set a

password. The password prevents someone from remotely accessing the

oscilloscope via a Web browser and modifying its settings. Remote users can still

view the Welcome screen, view network status, etc., but they cannot modify

instrument settings without the password.

To set a password:

Access the oscilloscope's web interface (see

"Accessing the Web Interface"

page 250).

When the oscilloscope's web interface is displayed, select the gear icon in the

upper-right corner of the web page.

Click the

Enable password

button.

Enter your desired password in the

New Password

field. Enter the password

again in the

Confirm Password

field. Click

Enable Password
