HOW TO USE
NEWTONMETER
DATA LOG-
GER
The NEWTONMeter data logger is used to log and view the belt
tension at one spot in the belt as it moves through the complete
belt stack. This instruction contains information on how to
manage a belt tension measurement including software
installation, data transfer and basic interpretation of the
measurements.
If more information needed about how to use the NEWTONMe-
ter data logger, see ESYS user manual.
Software installation
Helsingborg users
1. Connect the PC to the Internet.
2. Call Help desk +46 42 490 4444
Have logger and connecting cable from logger to PC available.
Important!
Always contact your IT department before installing any soft-
ware. If the program is not supplied with the NEWTONMeter
equipment, contact the IT department in Helsingborg, Sweden.
The user software „NEWTONMeter PC” is to be installed on a
PC under a Microsoft Windows Operating System. Therefore
the “Setup.exe” of the install CD is to be started. A “Wizard”
leads you through the installation of the software. As a result of
a successful installation, the program group “NEWTONMeter“
with a program icon is listed as an entry in the program bar.
Note!
Do not connect the “NEWTONMeter” with the PC, before the
software is installed. Only by the installation of the user pro-
gram, the USB drivers are made available.
Installing USB drivers
During first physical connection with the “NEWTONMeter” the
PC will demand USB-drivers for a new USB Device. These
drivers are unpacked during software installation in the same
directory where user software “NEWTONMeter PC” is installed
(e.g.“C:\Programme\ESYS\PC software for NEWTONMeter“).
Note!
This is why it is essential to install software before connecting
“NEWTONMeter” on PC.
