the

cover

Remove
the

SAS
signal
cables
from
the
I/O
board.

Remove
the
battery:
a.
Use
one
finger
to
press
the
top
of
the
battery
clip
away
from
the
battery.
b.
Lift
and
remove
the
battery
from
the
socket.
6.
Dispose
of
the
battery
as
required
by
local
ordinances
or
regulations.

for

about
disposing
of
the
battery).
To
install
the
replacement
battery,
complete
the
following
steps:
1.
Follow
any
special
handling
and
installation
instructions
that
come
with
the
replacement
battery.
2.
Insert
the
replacement
battery:
a.
Position
the
battery
so
that
the
positive
(+)
symbol
is
facing
away
from
you.
b.
Use
one
finger
to
press
the
top
of
the
battery
clip
away
from
the
battery.
c.
Press
the
battery
into
the
socket
until
it
clicks
into
place.
Make
sure
that
the
battery
clip
holds
the
battery
securely.
3.
Reconnect
the
2
SAS
signal
cables
to
the
I/O
board.
4.
Install
the
top
cover
(see
5.
Slide
the
server
into
the
rack.
6.
Reconnect
the
external
cables;
then,
reconnect
the
power
cords
and
turn
on
the
peripheral
devices
and
the
server.
Note:
You
must
wait
approximately
20
seconds
after
you
connect
the
power
cord
of
the
server
to
an
electrical
outlet
before
the
power-control
button
becomes
active.
7.
Start
the
Configuration/Setup
Utility
program
and
reset
the
configuration.

Set
the
system
date
and
time.
v
Set
the
power-on
password.
v
Reconfigure
the
server.

When
replacing
the
I/O
board,
you
must
either
update
the
server
with
the
latest
SAS
firmware
or
restore
the
pre-existing
firmware
from
a
diskette
or
CD
image.
