Working with Internal Drives
Your server supports drives that conform to the small computer
system interface (SCSI). This design allows you to attach multiple
drives to a single SCSI adapter.
Notes:
1. Depending on your particular server configuration, you might
need to install an additional SCSI adapter if you attach external
SCSI devices.
2. Any information about SCSI drives also applies to other SCSI
devices, such as scanners and printers.
Drives connect to your server with cables. Each cable connector is
designed to fit a corresponding drive connector. If the cable
connector fits the drive connector, you can connect the cable to that
drive.
Three types of internal cables connect to the drive in your server:
A four-wire, power cable connects to most drives. Two types of
power cables and connectors are provided, allowing you to
connect drives with different types of connectors. One of the
drive power cables connects to the installed diskette drive and
one connects to the CD-ROM drive. If a hard disk drive is
installed, one of the drive power cables is attached to the drive.
