2. Touch the static-protective package to any unpainted metal

surface on the server; then, remove the drive from the package.

3. Using the instructions that came with the drive, together with

these instructions, check that any switches or jumpers on the
drive are set correctly. Change the settings if necessary. For
information about termination requirements, see “Termination
Requirements” on page 80.

4. If a tray is attached to a drive that you intend to install, you

must remove the tray before installing the drive. Follow the
instructions in the documentation that comes with the drive.

5. To install a drive in bay 3, continue with the next step. To

install a drive in bays 4 through bay 6, go to step 1 on page 87.
