Part 1 – Using SmartPAC 2 in Run Mode

How to Enter and Exit Run Mode

NOTICE

Load a tool number before entering Run mode.  See next section.

Find instructions for running the press at the end of this chapter, starting on page 364.

To Enter Run Mode

To Exit Run Mode

Turn the Program/Run key toward RUN.*

To go to Program mode:

Turn the Program/Run key toward PROG.*

*

  If you turn the key and nothing happens, press RESET repeatedly until the SmartPAC 2 changes modes.  To

prevent this problem, before you turn the Program/Run key, make sure SmartPAC 2 is in the main (or top) menu for
the mode it is in. If it is not, press RESET repeatedly until the main menu appears.

NOTICE

SELECT = HIG ENTER

When this manual says “select,” it means highlight the item and press ENTER.

For HELP press the HELP key located at the center of the cursor (arrow) keys.

Load A Tool Number Before Switching to Run Mode

A tool number must be loaded before SmartPAC 2 will allow the press to run.  If no tool
number is loaded, you cannot switch from Initialization mode or Program mode to Run
mode.

If you switch to Run mode without a tool number loaded, you will get this error message on
your screen:
