5.8.1
Requirements on the installation position
y
The switch box must not be installed inside the engine compartment.
y
It must not be mounted in an area of trapped heat nor must air be allowed
to flow through it, e.g. air blown out of the engine compartment.
y
The switch box must be mounted so that the cooling vanes are vertical
and to ensure unobstructed air convection through the cooling vanes. The
cooling vanes must not be covered.
y
The switch box must be installed with spray water protection and to make
it impossible to spray the switch box with a high-pressure cleaner. When
using the covering and rain covers provided by the manufacturer, the
switch box is also allowed to be mounted outdoors.
y
The switch box must be mounted firmly and securely on a level base with
a load-bearing capacity sufficient to support the weight of the switch box.
y
The switch box is mounted on a vertical surface for
i
MAPLA 8 and 13.
y
For
i
MAPLA 17 to 20, the supporting frame of the switch box is mounted
on a horizontal surface.
y
The installation site must be low-vibration. Choose an installation site
for which adequate ventilation is guaranteed at all times where the
temperature of the cooling air does not exceed 40 °C.
