MAPLA systems report an excess temperature as
a system fault (LED 5 flashes).
On newer
i
MAPLA systems, the control electronics will not switch
off the magnet for safety reasons. Nevertheless, this message
should ALWAYS be considered as a very critical operating state!
6.10.10 Insulation monitor faulty
When the system is running and after pressing the check button for the
insulation monitor, LED 4+5+6 do not flash jointly or the LEDs no longer
clear automatically after releasing the test button, this means the insulation
monitor is faulty.
The insulation monitor is a safety device! When the insulation monitor is
faulty, any insulation faults which may arise can no longer be detected and
reported by the system. In this case, action must be taken to see whether an
insulation fault would really apply.
The operator must decide for themselves as to whether they would like
to continue working on the machine in spite of a failure to the insulation
monitor. However, for safety reasons, we recommend that the
i
MAPLA
system be switched off and repaired right away.
Danger
Danger to life through electric shock
y
With an insulation fault, the “electrical separation” protective
measure - which is otherwise provided by the system - is no
longer effective. Potentially fatal contact voltages on metal
parts may occur due to these faults.
►
Switch off the drive unit and secure against being switched
on again (e.g. remove the ignition key and keep it in a safe
place).
►
Have the system inspected and allow the manufacturer fix
the fault in the insulation monitor.
