CAUTION
Do not use the MMI with radio modem in the following cases:
y
In safety-critical machines and when controlled by MMI functions which
are important in a safety-related way.
y
When faults in the radio transmission by other radio devices or other
ambient conditions unfavourable to radio transmission.
Note
If a MMI with radio modem is used, a delay of approx. 0.1-0.5 secs
may arise between the pressure on the operator pushbutton and
the response of the system due to technical reasons.
11.1.1
General
The MMI is installed inside the cab within the driver's field of vision to allow
him / her to monitor the indicated operating states. It contains the “system
intelligence”, display elements, and the connection for the control button
(joystick).
With the MMI with radio modem, the cable connection between the
generator control electronics and MMI in the driver's cab is replaced by
a radio transmission.
The MMI contains a sender / receiver unit (transceiver) used to communicate
with the radio modem mounted in the vicinity of the switch box wirelessly.
This radio modem is connected with the control electronics of the generator
via a cable. It receives control signals from the MMI wirelessly and forwards
this to the generator control electronics. It also sends the signals from the
generator control electronics to the MMI in the driver's cab wirelessly.
