General directions
Cleaning and inspection
Check shaft (spindle) end and/or bearing seat
in the housing for damage indicating that the
bearing has rotated on the shaft (spindle)
and/or in the housing respectively. Replace the
damaged part, if the faults cannot be remedied
by polishing or in some other way.
Assembly
•
Leave new bearings in original wrapping until
ready to fit. The anti-rust agent protecting a new
bearing should not be removed before use.
•
Use the greatest cleanliness when handling the
bearings.
To facilitate assembly and also reduce the
risk of damage, first clean and then lightly
smear the bearing seating on shaft (spindle) or
alternatively in housing, with a thin oil.
G0587511
Clean and smear the bearing seating before
assembly.
•
When assembling ball bearings, the bearings
must be heated in oil to maximum 125 °C.
NOTE
Heat the bearing in a clean container with a cover.
Use only clean oil with a flash point above 250 °C.
The bearing must be well covered by the oil and not be
in direct contact with the sides or the bottom of the
container. Place the bearing on some kind of support
or suspended in the oil bath.
G0587611
The bearing must not be in direct contact with
the container.
