Once you have confirmed “Delete” by pressing OK, the selected
blocked domain will be deleted and the A-scan image refreshed
accordingly.
As a consequence, the false echo behind the second layer interface
echo will be used for processing again.
12.2.4 Expectancy domains
Expectancy domains are applied within the postprocessor function and
serve to associate tolerance bands to the layer interface echoes. Within
such tolerance bands, echoes can be expected. The tolerance bands
move according to the respective echo positions. Any echo located
between the expectancy domains will be marked as being invalid. On
the A-scan image they will be marked by the expectancy domain icon.
You can create, edit or delete expectancy domains.
Select the requested item from the menu and confirm your selection by
pressing OK.
Create an expectancy domain
Point of start is the A-scan image on the left. It has been created by
measurement of a 2-layer sample with the global clipping function being
enabled. No additional clipping domains have been defined so far. 3
layer interface echoes have been extracted with the first two echoes
representing “true” echoes while the third one has been extracted from
an interference.
For each “true” echo one expectancy domain is to be created in order
to suppress any false echoes located beyond these domains.
