12.1.1 General
This menu includes a summary of important selection parameters (for
entry of such selection parameter values please refer to 4.3.1).
The system offers a total of five measuring ranges. Under “General”
you can enter the requested measuring range.
The maximum number of layers can be set from 1 to 5 or to “unknown”.
If you set to “unknown”, the thickness of layers will be calculated from
all valid layer echoes. In this case, the maximum number of layers will
also be 5 .
The “Auto zoom” parameter defines whether the obtained echoes will
always be zoomed to full size on the A-scan image after a new reading
has been taken. This is of advantage for highest precision of the
graphical representation. If however, the focus is put on a comparative
analysis, e. g. in order to assess the reproducibility of echoes in sub-
sequent measurements on the same measuring spot, it is recommen-
ded to disable the Auto zoom.
12.1.2 Preprocessor
This menu includes all preprocessor (clipping, echo extraction) and
optimisation parameters. For a description of the and the use of such
parameters please refer to sections 8.3 and 8.4.
The parameter group “Clipping” includes a submenu.
Choose “Clipping” and press OK to call this menu.
