Figure 92. Flash Programmer.
The FP-6000 will display Flash Loader Mode “Program Complete
Exit FL Load Mode.” Once this has been completed the screen will
prompt the user to force the relay to run in normal mode. This is
accomplished by clicking on “File” then “Exit” to exit the Flash
Loader program thus returning the FP-6000 to its normal state
(see Figure 93).
Figure 93. Flash Programmer.
If there is a message displayed on the FP-6000 that “App
checksum fail Enter FL Load Mode to erase or program” the user
will have to go back and erase the FP-6000 and reprogram
following the above steps.
12.4.5 Upgrading Firmware
Upgrading Phase 1 firmware (Version 1.0 or 1.03) to Phase 2 (or
later) will not be possible directly. A two-step process must be
completed.
First, download the boot swap code. To do this you must locate
the proper file. The default application file name (Fp5Kapp.s19)
will appear in the location window (see Figure 83), this is not the
file to download at this time. To download the boot swap code to
upgrade type Fpbtswap.s19 in the file name box and click Open
and follow the normal upgrading procedures; this should take
about one minute. When the process completes, the relay will be
in FlashLoad mode and will prompt you to get the Phase 2 (or
later) firmware, this is the second step. Follow the normal
procedures shown in this section (see Figures 86 through 93) to
load the relay with the newer application code.)
