Total settings required for the autoreclose logic are listed in Table
27. Depending on the application, the user may not need to
specify all of the settings. The user should have the answers for
the following before making setting changes.
•
Single shot or multiple shots?
•
How is the autoreclose initiated?
•
What are the breaker characteristics in terms of interrupting
speed and capacity (local and remote)?
•
The choice of the breaker off time for each intended shot?
•
The choice of Run-to-Ready reset time?
•
The shot protection coordination strategy?
•
Use the breaker wear curve to supervise maximum shot?
•
Enable the auto zone coordination with downstream reclosers?
•
Enable blocking the autoreclose?
•
Enable locking out the autoreclose?
When the autoreclose function is enabled, the auto zone
coordination, auto reset lockout, maximum shots per hour, and
maximum shots adjustment features may be enabled or
disabled.
If the maximum shots-per-hour feature is disabled, there will be
no time limit on how many shots can be performed. If the
maximum shot adjustment feature is enabled, the maximum
shots limit will be determined based on a few settings that may
be obtained from the breaker operation characteristic. The
allowable shots will be the smaller one between the number of
valid shots specified through the settings of the four shots and
the maximum shots adjusted from the breaker characteristic and
its operation history. The breaker characteristic is implemented
separately from the autoreclose logic (see the Breaker Custom
Curve).
