Instructions for the FP-6000 Protective Relay
Run2Ready
AutoReclose From Run to Ready Reset Time T4. This setting sets
a limit within which the autoreclose logic will return to Ready
mode from Run if no protection picks up. The Run-to-Ready
reset time must be set long enough to allow the local relay or the
relays on downstream lines to operate when reclosing into a
permanent fault. On the other hand, it should be set short
enough to allow the relay to advance to next shot stage, if it is so
configured, when the auto zone coordination feature is in action
or the breaker pumping condition exists. Specifically, the reset
time must be greater than the sum of the protection trip time, the
circuit breaker operating time (from the instant the trip coil is
energized to the instant the contacts fully open), the protection
system reset time (time from the instant the breaker contacts
fully open to the instant the relay is ready to respond to a further
fault), and a safety margin. In digital relays, the protection
system reset time is very short, may be a cycle or a bit more.
Note that the protection system reset time here is different from
the time inverse overcurrent current reset time that may affect
the protection trip time.
The Run-to-Ready timer starts counting when the breaker is
closed and no overcurrent protection picks up. If any overcurrent
protection picks up, this timer will be reset.
Lock2Ready
AutoReclose From Lockout to Ready Reset Time T5. This setting
sets a limit within which the autoreclose logic will return to
Ready mode from Lockout after a resetting autoreclose lockout
signal is received. The FP-6000 relay needs only a cycle to reset
the autoreclose lockout, thus, there is no restriction how short it
can be set. The user must make sure that the breaker is capable
and ready to perform multiple operations before the autoreclose
lockout is reset.
ShotsPerHour
AutoReclose Shots Per Hour Limit. This setting sets a limit of
how many shots the autoreclose can perform in one hour.
ExtIncShot
External Increment Shot. This setting enables or disables
externally incrementing shot stage.
I CNTL Shot
Auto Adjust Max Shots Feature. If it is enabled, the maximum
number of shots will also be controlled by accumulated
interrupting current based on the breaker wear curve.
AR Timeout
AutoReclose Failure Time T3. This is the timeout limit for a
complete multiple-shot autoreclose sequence. This setting must
be set long enough for the autoreclose logic to complete a
longest possible multiple shot sequence operation. It should be
greater than the sum of four shot breaker off times, four longest
protection trip times, at least one Run-to-Ready reset time, and a
safety margin.
SyncControl
Sync Supervision. If it is enabled, an autoreclose is permitted
only if two systems across the breaker are in sync. If it is
disabled, the sync condition will have no effect on the
autoreclose process.
ExtBlockAR
External Blocking AR. This setting, if enabled, allows an external
signal through a contact input to block the autoreclose process.
If the autoreclose logic is in the Ready mode when an external
blocking signal is received, the autoreclose logic will stay in
Ready mode. If the autoreclose logic is in the Run mode when an
external blocking signal is received, the autoreclose logic will
stay in Ready mode until the autoreclose timeout timer is
expired.
ExtCloseDly
AR Delay (T1) Upon External Closing. This setting sets a limit
within which the autoreclose initiate will be blocked after a
manual or remote close is performed.
PLC BlockAR
PLC Blocking AR. This setting enables or disables the option for
blocking autoreclose. If it is enabled, AR Block Logic Gate must
be configured accordingly.
79VB Thresh
Voltage Block AR (79VB) Threshold. This setting sets a threshold
below which the undervoltage block the autoreclose will start
timing.
79VBDelay
Voltage Block AR (79VB) Delay. This setting sets a time delay for
79VB to generate a blocking signal.
PLCLockout
General PLC Lockout 79RL. This setting enables or disables the
option for locking out autoreclose. If it is enabled, Lockout Logic
Gate must be configured accordingly.
Ext2Lockout
External Force to Lockout. This setting, if enabled, allows an
external signal through a contact input to force the autoreclose
logic to Lockout mode.
AZC Enable
Auto Zone Coordination Feature. This setting enables or
disables the auto zone coordination feature.
AR CNTL AZC
AR Supervise Auto Zone Coordination. This setting determines if
the auto zone coordination feature is supervised by the
autoreclose logic. If it is set to Enable, the auto zone
coordination is permitted only if the autoreclose function is
enabled. If it is set to Disable, the auto zone coordination feature
will still work regardless if the autoreclose function is enabled or
disabled. If the autoreclose function is disabled, the four shot
protection settings must be specified in order for the auto zone
coordination feature to work.
AR Init Logic Gate
This is the general AR Initiate Logic Gate. This has five settings:
Function, IN1, IN2, IN3, and IN4. Program it the same way as
other logic gate.
AR Block Logic Gate
This is the general AR Block Logic Gate. This has five settings:
Function, IN1, IN2, IN3, and IN4. Program it the same way as
other logic gate.
Lockout Logic Gate
This is the general AR Lockout Logic Gate. This has five settings:
Function, IN1, IN2, IN3, and IN4. Program it the same way as
other logic gate.
