7.5 Reading/Writing a Memory Card
Users can read/write data into/from a memory card to back up and update a system by means of the DIP
switch on a CPU module.
7.5.1 Backing up the System
When a system backup is executed, the user program, the parameter setting, the hardware configuration, the
network configuration, and the values on the device memories in a CPU module are backed up and saved as
a file called AUTOEXEC.dup, which is stored in a folder named SysDup in a memory card. If a default path
denotes an existing backup file, the previous data in the old backup file is overwritten when a system is
backed up.
A system backup can be executed, whether a CPU module runs or stops. However, users have to make sure
that the write protect tab on the left side of a SD card is slid upward before a system backup is executed. The
system backup procedure is as follows.
(1) Turn DIP switch 3 ON, and turn the other switches OFF. If users do not want to back up the values on the
device memories, they need to turn DIP switch 4 ON.
(2) Press the CLR button on the CPU module for five seconds. When the system backup is executed, the
SYSTEM LED indicator blinks. After the system backup is complete, the SYSTEM LED indicator is OFF.
When the system backup is executed, the SYSTEM LED
