4. Registering the ‘FAZ 3000-PIR-2’ PIR motion detector
• Prepare the alarm base station as described on page 47. The LCD appears
as shown on the right.
The same display appears, if you have already registered another sensor
(for example, the door/window detector from the complete set) and you
have not yet exited the registration mode (this is possible by pressing
the button ‘
C
’ three times).
Here, ‘
X

X
X
’ is the number of already registered sensors plus one.
• Go to the PIR motion detector that you intend to register with the alarm base station.
After installing the PIR motion detector as described in section 9. c), pages 32 to 35,
the casing is open and the batteries have not yet been inserted.
• Insert 3 AA batteries with the correct polarity into the three battery
compartments. See figure 34.
• The sensor contacts the alarm base station by sending a radio signal.
The sensor’s LED lights up briefly, and the base station emits a short
signal tone to confirm reception.
The sensor will not be recognised by the alarm base sta-
tion, if you inadvertently inserted batteries during the instal-
lation.
In this case, remove the batteries, wait a few seconds and
re-insert the batteries with the correct polarity.
The alarm base station should now recognise the sensor.
• Replace the battery compartment cover. Finally, clip the PIR motion detector into the holder. Do
not use force when doing this.
• Return to the alarm base station. The LCD’s display has changed. See
the figure on the right. The number ‘
2

2
’ is the consecutive sensor number
(and not ‘the second PIR motion detector’, for instance).
• Use the buttons on the alarm base station to enter the name of the sensor
