Notes:
1. The reagent reacts with all dissolvediron and most undissolved forms of iron in the
water sample.
2. Iron oxide requires prior digestion: use mild, vigorous or Digesdahl digestion (e.g. for
digestion with acid seepage 147).
3. Very strong alkaline or acidic water samplesmust be adjusted to a pH value between
3 and 5 before analysis.
4. Accuracy is not affected by undissolved powder.
5. Water samplescontaining visible rust should be allowed to react for at least five minutes.
