Testing the radio link
This section describes how to test the link when there is no radio communication, when it
is unreliable, when the data throughput rate is too low, or when a unit is causing radio or
TV interference. It may be necessary to test the units at both ends of the link.
No activity
If there is no wireless activity, proceed as follows:
1
Select menu option
Home
and check Wireless Link Status on the System Summary
page.
2
Check that the firmware at each end of the link is the same version.
3
Check Range and Transmit Power.
4
Check Master/Slave Mode for each unit and ensure that one unit is Master and the
other unit is Slave.
5
Check that the link is not obstructed or the ODU misaligned.
6
Use the Channel Status web page at each end of the link to confirm that there is a
quiet wireless channel to use. Refer to
Checking channel status
on page
7-18
.
7
If there are no faults found in the configuration and there is absolutely no wireless
signal, retry the installation procedure.
8
If this does not work then report a suspected ODU fault to Cambium.
