Wrap a layer of 50 mm (2 inch) PVC tape from bottom to top, starting from 25 mm 
(1 inch) below the edge of the self-amalgamating tape, overlapping at half width.

Repeat with a further four layers of 19 mm (0.75 inch) PVC tape, always 
overlapping at half width. Wrap the layers in alternate directions: 

Second layer: top to bottom. 

Third layer: bottom to top. 

Fourth layer: top to bottom. 

Fifth layer: bottom to top. 

The bottom edge of each layer should be 25 mm (1 inch) below the previous layer.
