6.5 Using the
Ion Fragmentation Calculator
Description
The Ion Fragmentation calculator generates a list of possible
fragment masses for a peptide sequence you enter. It can
calculate the masses for:
•
Multiply charged fragments you may see in Mariner
data.
•
PSD fragments you may see in Voyager data.
If the calculated fragments are present in the current data file,
you can label fragments.
The calculator includes a list of defined amino acids and
residues that you can add to as needed.
Using the Ion
Fragmentation
calculator
To use the Ion Fragmentation Calculator:
1.
Display the spectrum of interest.
2.
Click the Spectrum window to activate it.
3.
From the Applications menu, select Ion Fragmentation
Calculator.
The Ion Fragmentation Calculator dialog box
(Figure 6-15) is displayed.
