4. Open the receptacle cover and connect the remote ther-
mostat connector.
5. Place the remote thermostat where you want to control
the temperature.
6. Rotate the dial on the remote thermostat to the desired
temperature.
7. Start the heater trailer engine. See “Operating The
Engine” for information on starting the engine.
8. Start the heater unit. See “Operating The Heater Unit” for
information on starting the heater unit.
9. When finished with the remote thermostat, shut down the
heater unit. See “Operating The Heater” Unit for infor-
mation on shutting down the heater unit. Shut down the
engine. See “Operating The Engine” for information on
shutting down the engine.
10. Disconnect the remote thermostat from the receptacle
and close the receptacle cover.
When The Control System Detects A Fault
DANGER
Servicing electrical components while the engine is run-
ning, or while the heater units are connected to an elec-
trical power source will result in death or serious injury.
Always shut down the engine or disconnect the heater
units from the power source before servicing electrical
components.
The electronic control module of the heater units may detect
a fault. The display will indicate the fault. Repair the source
of the problem before attempting to restart the heater unit.
Fault: Heater unit failed to ignite fuel:
1. The start up process will be terminated and the control
module will display the fault shown in Figure 36.

2. Determine the reason that fuel is not being ignited.
Repair the problem.
3. Reset the burner by pressing the reset button on the
burner (A, Figure 37).
