4. Turn off the heater unit breakers.
5. Shut down the engine.
NOTICE
Shutting down the engine before the heater units can perform
the cool down cycle could cause overheating of the combus-
tion chamber resulting in damage to the heater unit. Always
allow the heater units to complete the cool down cycle before
shutting down the engine.
Using The Remote Thermostat
The heater trailer may be equipped with an optional remote
thermostat. The remote thermostat is intended to control the
temperature in an enclosed area where the heated air may
be ducted.
WARNING
The heater unit may start at any time when using the
remote thermostat. Always keep clear of the heater unit
when the remote thermostat is being used to control the
heater.
The remote thermostat will cycle on and off to maintain a
preset temperature in the enclosed area. Each heater unit
control module is equipped with a receptacle for a remote
thermostat. If both heater units are to be used each one will
require its own remote thermostat. The temperature in the
enclosed area must be lower than the temperature set on the
remote thermostat before the heater unit will start.
To use the remote thermostat:
1. Make sure the engine and heater units are shut down.
2. Open the heating unit control access door on the right
side of the machine.
3. Locate the receptacle for the remote thermostat at the
upper right of the heater unit control module (A, Figure
35).
