Configuring SIP phones through configuration files
This configuration mode uses two file types:
•
A generic file used by all the phones: aastra.cfg
•
A specific file per phone, describing some local parameters, called @MAC.cfg (exemple
:00085D3A2451.cfg).
The phones with factory settings are in DHCP, with the validated TFTP.
The DHCP server provides the phones with their IP address and the address of a TFTP server.
The phones will be able to download the two configuration files automatically.
Nota :
The configuration instructions are described in ‘SIP IP PHONES Administrator
Guide Release 1.4.1 41-001129-00-08’

Content of the configuration file ‘aastra.cfg’
The configuration file aastra.cfg configures the data common to SIP sets 480i, 9133i and 9112i.
The data below is communicated as examples and presents most of the parameters of the SIP
phones to configure for the NeXspan solution.
This file must be reviewed for each installation, based on the need.
Examples: VLAN id and QoS, time server, sip dial plan, sip customized codec, sip proxy ip, sip
registrar ip, language...
Some parameters must retain the default value for the NeXspan solution, as indicated below.
In the example below, the main parameters for NeXspan are in bold.
