9.11.2.6 Loading Language Packs on 5xi SIP phone
There are two methods to load a language pack on 5xi SIP phone:

Loading via aastra.cfg configuration file
•
Loading via WEB interface
Loading via aastra.cfg configuration file
Using the configuration files, you specify a language pack to load in the following format:
lang_<ISO 639>-<ISO 3166>.txt or lang_<ISO 639>.txt where <ISO 639> is the language code
specified in Standard ISO 639 and <ISO 3166> is the country code specified in Standard ISO
3166. The <ISO 3166> attribute is optional.
Adding/changing language packs can only be done at bootup of the IP phone. The default
language (English) cannot be changed or removed.
The following is an example of the parameters you would enter in the aastra.cfg file to load a
French, Italian, German, and Spanish language pack to the 5xi IP phone.
language 1 : lang_fr_eu.txt
language 2 : lang_de.txt
language 3 : lang_it.txt
language 4 : lang_es_eu.txt
Loading via WEB interface
•
Connect in Administrator mode
•
Click on ’Basic configuration->Preferences->Language settings’, enter the name of the
language pack to load in the fields ’language 1’ to ’language 4’ among those available:

Click on <Save Settings> to save your configuration

The taking into account of language packs can only be done at bootup of the SIP phone: Click
on ’Operation > Reset > Restart Phone, click on <Restart> button.
