SIP PHONES 51i, 53i, 55i AND 57i
Resetting an SIP phone:
In some cases (loss of Administrator password, network problem during a TFTP transfer, etc.), it is
necessary to reset the passwords and force the downloading of phone firmware.
To activate this mode, press and hold down the keys ‘#’ and ‘1’ while the phone is powered up. The
screen then displays ‘Web Recovery at: a.b.c.d’, where a.b.c.d is an IP address chosen by the
phone.
From the web browser of a PC located on the same network as the phone, connect to the phone
through:
http://a.b.c.d
, and indicate the TFTP server IP address and the name of the firmware
corresponding to the phone type.
Click ‘Download firmware’ and wait for the end of the download:
At the end of the phone download, the default passwords are restored:
Admin/22222, for Administrator access
User/ ‘no password’, for user access.
Caution: During the ‘recovery’ procedure and as long as it has not been reloaded by its
configuration files, the phone does not mark the frames in 802.1Q (VLAN number). It
may be necessary, for instance if the phone is connected to a PC and uses 802.1Q
marking, to temporarily move it to an IP network port in ‘access’ mode.
Caution: In ‘recovery’ mode, the phone no longer has any default router address: the PC and the
TFTP server must be on the same IP network as the phone.
