Configuration through a download server
This configuration is described in detail in the following chapter.
By default (factory settings), the SIP phone is set to DHCP and uses TFTP to load the firmware
and configuration files. This configuration enables you to load the phone automatically.
The protocols available for downloading are: TFTP, FTP and HTTP.
The download server hosts the phones’ firmware and configuration files.
Format of files used for downloading:
•
Firmware: <phone type>.st (example: 480i.st)
•
General phone configuration: aastra.cfg
•
Specific phone parameter file: @MAC.cfg (example: 00085D3A2451.cfg)
Therefore, you will use the configuration directly on the phone or via the WEB interface for a
reduced number of phones.
You can carry out mass deployments via a download server.
Caution: Combining the different methods may lead to configuration clashes, and unexpected
behaviour of the phone.
Caution: All the file names must be seized into lower case, except the field ’@MAC’ which must
be seized obligatorily in capital letter.
