4.3.2 Work light Control
Press function key [WORK LIGHT], control work light on or off. Work light is off by default when system
starts up.
4.4 Tool Setting
Determine G54 coordinate plane, press key [OFF/SET] enter setting interface.
4.4.1 Halve by Trial cut
If the requirement of the tool setting is not too high, or the work is rough, and the outface of parts can be cut.
We can determine the origin of part coordinate system by touch the workpiece with the tool we used to cut the
workpiece. Steps are as follow:
(1) Clamping milling cutter to spindle, start spindle with a middle speed;
(2) Move the milling cutter along X axis to the workpiece edge manually until the cutter just cutting the
workpiece material.
(3) Keep X, Y coordinate invariant, move Z axis along positive direction. Press key [X HALF], the screen
shows "First point’s X coordinate has been obtained, please move to the second point"
(4) Move the spindle along positive direction of Z axis, Press key [X HALF], the screen shows X axis halve
complete. At this point, the X coordinate is it’s zero position.
(5) Complete halve Y axis with the same method, then complete the coordinate setting.
4.4.2 Halve with Optical Edge Finder
Optical edge finder utilizes centrifugal force, the speed of the spindle can only be 350~600r/min. The speed
must not be more than 600 r/min, generally it should be around 500 r/min.
(1) Install the optical edge finder on the spindle;
(2) Set the speed of the spindle to350~600r/min ;
(3) Move the optical edge finder to the workpiece edge manually, optical edge finder ‘s swing amplitude
change from big to small until coincide, change the handle feedrate to 0.01mm, move to workpiece until the
optical edge finder separated;
(4) Move the spindle along positive direction of Z axis, Press key [X HALF] and move the optical edge
finder to the other side of workpiece, touch the workpiece with the same method.
(5) Move the spindle along positive direction of Z axis, Press key [X HALF];
(6) Complete halve Y axis with the same method.
4.4.3 Setting Tool by Reference Cutter
(1) Set the reference cutter’s compensation value to 0;
(2) Complete tool setting in the surface of workface with reference cutter;
(3) Enter Z0 in selected coordinate and press key [MEASURE];
(4) Return to relative coordinate system interface, zero the coordinate value of Z axis;
(5) Change the second tool, complete tool setting in the surface of workface;
(6) Enter key [C INPUT] in the second tool’s compensation interface, this value is the compensation value
relative to reference cutter.
4.4.4 Setting Tool by Non Reference Cutter
Non reference cutter tool setting is do tool setting to each tool, and input Z axis machine coordinate value to
compensation parameter of each tool.
