Delegates Button
The
Delegates
button affects the behavior of the Enable buttons, and is used
when editing effects. During effect editing, you may want to apply edits to
only some of the levels in an effect, but permit other levels to run along
with the levels being edited. An E-MEM level group can actually be in one
of three states, relating to it being enabled for running and delegated for
editing:
•
Not Enabled: Level does not run and cannot be edited (off tally).
•
Enabled but not Delegated (or Enabled): Level will run but will not be
affected by key frame editing commands (low tally).
•
Enabled and Delegated (or Delegated): Level will run and will be mod-
ified by any key frame editing command (high tally).
When the
Delegates
button is on (high tally) the Enable buttons operate in
Delegates mode. In this mode, pressing an Enable button toggles it
between an Enabled state (low tally) and a Delegated state (high tally).
Pressing a Not-Enabled button will enable and delegate it for editing (high
tally).
When the
Delegates
button is turned off, all Enabled levels return to being
Delegated for editing, and you can once again turn off an Enabled level by
pressing its button so its tally goes off.
E-MEM Level Assignments
Each Enable button can actually be configured to control several E-MEM
levels or an enable group. Pressing an Enable button will activate, or enable,
all the levels that have been assigned to that enable group. Once enabled,
effects for those levels in that group can be learned and recalled. E-MEM
levels are assigned to Enable buttons using the E-MEM Prefs menu (see
The
Auto Recal
l button can be used to automatically enable the correct levels
during the recall of an effect, if the effect was learned with
Auto Recall
on. See
Auto Recall Button on page 118
.
Master E-MEM Keypad
The Master E-MEM keypad has 16 numeric entry buttons (4 more than an
M/E keypad) and the same four prefix buttons located on the left. Addi-
tional prefix buttons used to delegate the keypad to different numeric entry
operations are located above the Master E-MEM readout display.
The Master E-MEM keypad and the following prefix buttons perform the
same basic functions as those an individual M/E E-MEM.
Note
E-MEM Operations performed on the Master E-MEM subpanel only affect the
levels that have been enabled, and all levels in each active enable group will
be affected. Make sure the appropriate levels have been enabled before
issuing E-MEM commands.
