Timeline Modify, Insert Button Group
Mod/MdAll
– The
Mod/MdAll
button is used to change existing keyframes on a
timeline, or add new ones. Only levels delegated for editing are affected.
Pressing this button once performs a
Modify
function. Double pressing this
button performs a
Modify All
function.
Modify
(single press) updates the keyframe at the current cursor location
to the current state of the work buffer. When the cursor is on the path,
Modify
acts the same as the Insert function, inserting a keyframe without
adding time.
Modify All
(double press) applies changed work buffer values to all the
keyframes in all delegated levels of the effect. Only those parameters
that have changed from the original values at the current cursor loca-
tion are involved (by pressing a button, turning a knob, or entering a
value with the keypad).
Modify All
applies relative changes, not absolute
changes. For example, a hue change of 30 degrees will shift different
hues by that amount, and will not change them to the same hue. How-
ever, mode changes are always absolute (turning a function on turns it
on for all affected keyframes, and does not toggle on functions off).
Absolute changes for all the parameters involved can be made using
the Timeline menu (see
).
You can also press Master E-MEM
Learn
, then
Modify
to update the
Master E-MEM effect header. This can be used, for example, to change
only the Auto Recall state of an effect without having to relearn the
entire effect. See
Insert Before
– When the cursor is on a keyframe, pressing
Insert Before
inserts
a keyframe at the cursor location, and shifts the keyframe the cursor was
on and all the following keyframes later in the effect. The currently speci-
fied keyframe duration value determines the duration of the new key-
frame, and the total effect duration increases by that amount. When the
cursor is on the path,
Insert Before
places a new keyframe at the current posi-
tion without adding time or moving any existing keyframes. In either case,
after the operation the cursor is positioned on the new keyframe.
Insert After
– When the cursor is on a keyframe, pressing
Insert After
inserts a
new keyframe (with the currently specified keyframe duration) after the
keyframe the cursor was on, and shifts all the following keyframes later in
the effect, which increases the total duration of the effect. When the cursor
is on the path,
Insert After
places a new keyframe at the current position
without adding time or moving any existing keyframes. In either case, after
the operation the cursor is positioned on the new keyframe.
Note
Each E-MEM effect can hold a maximum of 64 keyframes.
