Section 2 — Control Panels
Borderline and Related Buttons
The buttons in this group can be used to add various types of border edges
around the keyed area of the delegated keyer or preset pattern border. Do
not confuse this Borderline feature with a wipe transition pattern border,
which is a different feature. The key border buttons are interlocked. Only
one border mode can be selected at a time.
•
The
No Border
button turns off borders.
•
The
Borderline
button places an equal width border around the keyed
area. The width of the border is adjusted with the
Border Position/Direction
knob. When the
Borderline
button is held down, the
Opacity
knob controls
the opacity of the border only.
•
The
Shadw
button places a shadow of the keyed area in the vicinity of
the main keyed area. The width of the shadow is adjustable with the
Border Position/Direction
knob when the
Shadw
button is selected but not
held down. The same knob controls the shadow direction when the
Shdw
button is held down. When the
Shadw
button is held down, the
Opacity
knob controls the opacity of the shadow only.

The
Extrude
button replicates edges of the keyed area many times. The
number of replications is adjustable with the
Border Position Direction
knob. The same knob controls the extrude direction when the
Extrude
button is held down.When the
Extrude
button is held down, the
Opacity
knob controls the opacity of the extrusion only.
•
The
Outline
button creates the same border as the Borderline button, but
no fill video is used, leaving only the border over the background. The
width of the outline is adjustable using the
Border Position/Direction
knob.
The
Opacity
knob controls the opacity of the outline.
Note
Keys shift down as a border or shadow is applied. Border position and direc-
tion adjustments also change in steps, and are not smooth.
Effects Send Button Group
The two buttons in this group are associated with Effects Send.
•
The
Eff Send
button toggles Effects Send on or off for the delegated
keyer.
•
The
Loop Sel
button is an SPOP that delegates the Menu panel to the
Effects Send menu, where additional controls are available.
Note
Kalypso HD and Duo systems only support internal Effects Send to Transform
Engines.
Masks Subpanel
The Masks subpanel (right side of
) is used to control key masks.
Masks help clean up keys by defining picture areas that are prevented from
keying (inhibit mask) or are forced to key (force mask). Separate inhibit and
