Section 2 — Control Panels
Pre Attach, Post Attach, Replace Attach
Macros can be attached to other panel buttons so the macro runs when that
button is pressed. Macros can run before the normal function of that
button, after the normal function, or completely replace that button func-
tion. When macro mode is on, pressing a
Pre Attach
,
Post Attach
, or
Repl Attach
buttons activates attach mode. You then select the macro register of the
desired macro and press the button to which you wish to attach that macro.
Any buttons on the Main panel (except delegation buttons and buttons dis-
abled due to a lack of resources) can have macros attached. Attach mode
remains on until turned off, to permit quick attachments of the same macro
to several buttons.
Macros cannot be attached to Local or Remote Aux panel buttons, or to the
hardware buttons on the original Menu panel.
Macros are attached to physical buttons, not to the delegated function of
that button. For example, if you attach a macro to the
Chroma Key
button, the
macro will run whenever that button is pressed, regardless of what keyer
that subpanel has been delegated to control. Also, if a macro is attached to
a source select button, that macro will still play when that button is pressed
even if the
Alt Buses
button is held down. On a 2-M/E Main panel, however,
delegating a bank essentially creates a different set of buttons. This means
on a 2-M/E Main panel you can attach one macro to the left most button
when M/E 1 is the delegated bank, and attach a different macro to the left
most button when M/E 2 is the delegated bank, and then play different
macros depending on which bank has been delegated.
Macro attachments are broken by entering one of the attach modes (it
doesn’t matter which one) and, without selecting a macro register, pressing
the panel buttons with attachments you wish to remove. This attaches no
macro to that button. If a macro register has already been selected, touching
that macro register button de-selects it, and then button attachments can be
broken.
The
Show Attach
button activates a mode that low tally blinks panel buttons
that have macros attached. The
Show Attach
button itself high tallies when
the mode is active. Pressing and immediately releasing the button activates
attach mode as a latched state, which remains on until the button is pressed
second time. It is also possible to momentarily activate the mode by
holding down the
Show Attach
button. Releasing the held button disables the
mode.
Attach Enable
The
Attach Enable
button enables and disables all macro button attachments
globally. When on, the
Attach Enable
button goes high tally, and then pressing
panel buttons with macros attached will run those macros. When off,
macros are only be played back by activating macro mode and pressing the
