Depopulated Drive Support – The Sun StorEdge 6320 system supports having
depopulated drive trays in the Sun StorEdge 6020 trays. Each drive tray can
contain 7-to-14 drives. Slots without drives must have dummy drives inserted in
them.
■
Storage Array Configurations – The Sun StorEdge 6320 system supports
attaching controller-less Sun StorEdge 6020 arrays to existing Sun StorEdge 6020
arrays that have controllers. These controller-less trays are referred to as
expansion units. The naming convention used in configuration is “controller x
trays” (controller by trays). A 2x2 configuration means there are two controllers
and two trays. A 2x4 configuration means there are two controllers and four trays.
The Sun StorEdge 6320 system supports the following configurations:
