B
Bay scanner operation with errors
Error message E59 is output.
To determine the height profile, the internally learned variable blocked regions are used.
C
Error-free operation without bay scanner
To determine the height profile, the internally learned variable blocked regions are used.

Bay scanner operation
BAYSCANNER_VALID bit
This bit is used to communicate to the sway control system whether or not a bay scanner is
used.
The bit must not change its status during:
● Travel in semi-automatic mode
● Learning travel
On the switch edge from 1 → 0, the height profile must be deleted with the
LEARN_PROFILE_RESET control bit.
On the switch edge from 0 → 1, it is advisable to delete the height profile as well to create a
defined initial situation.
If the bit is reset, the "VALUE_BAYSCANNER" value is not used and the
"COUNT_BAYSCANNER" value is not evaluated, i.e. error message E59 "Monitoring of the
bay scanner" is not triggered.
In this case, only internally learned blocked regions are used.
The bit must not be used to signal whether the bay scanner value is correct. This is only done
with the "COUNT_BAYSCANNER" value.
Note
On cranes without a bay scanner, the BAYSCANNER_VALID bit must remain permanently
reset.
On cranes with a bay scanner, the bit can remain permanently set. If internally learned blocked
regions are to be used in case of an error, the bit must be set or reset accordingly.
"COUNT_BAYSCANNER" value
The "COUNT_BAYSCANNER" value is used to evaluate whether or not the bay scanner is
providing valid values.
If the counter value does not change within a period of 500 ms, an error message E59
"Monitoring of the bay scanner" is generated. With this message, you can stop travel in semi-
automatic mode or trigger other reactions.
Note
In the crane control system, all conditions must be acquired that are required for the bay
scanner to function without error.
