Error E58 is triggered in the following cases:
● The trolley is moving at a velocity of >20% (reference value is P0) forward or backward.
● The hoist is moving at a velocity of >3% (reference value is P40) in the lowering direction.

A movement in the hoisting direction does not result in an error message.

Note
Monitoring is triggered if either the actual velocity or the output velocity exceeds the stated 

threshold values.
Applies to trolley and hoist

Note
The error is only triggered in the following cases when the specified threshold values are 

exceeded:
● The mode of the trolley and hoist changes from MAN to SAM (edge evaluation).
● At the time of mode switchover, the TRAVEL control bit is set for both drives.

6.12

Selection of the control method

6.12.1

Selection

Two control methods are available:
● Conventional control
● Time-optimized control
The control method is selected via parameter P152.

6.12.2

Conventional control

Use of the conventional control method produces an aperiodic characteristic for the sway 

angle. The acceleration ramp is smoothed. The acceleration times equal approximately 1.1 

times the natural oscillation duration of the load oscillation.
The travel operations place very low mechanical stress on the crane structure. The travel 

behavior is smooth and comfortable for the crane driver.
Precise positioning is possible.
