Hardware
3.4.1
Control boards
All boards of the
Connect Touch
control system are installed
inside the
R
NXC-NXH
devices and communicate through the
internal LEN bus.
The system can include up to three SIOB boards: the first board
(main board) is used to manage all main inputs and outputs
of the controller, while the second SIOB board is used to sup-
port the third compressor of circuit A or the two compressors
of circuit B. The third SIOB board is used only with hybrid heat
pump option.
The main board constantly monitors the information received
from the different temperature and pressure probes; conse-
quently, the
Connect Touch
control starts the program con-
trolling the unit.
Up to two AUX1 boards can be installed at the same time. The
first AUX1 board can provide additional inputs and outputs that
can be used for instance to monitor:
− cooling temperature of the chilled water system (Master/
Slave unit)
− readings of the leak detections
− electric heating
− boiler operation.
This board is used only for smaller units (NXC 044-084) that have
only some of the above-mentioned options available (electric
heaters, boiler, etc.). The second AUX1 board is optional and is
used for units with dry cooler option. It provides information
required to check the free cooling cycle.
3.4.2
Board power supply
All boards are equipped with common 24 VAC supply with
earthing device.
In case of blackout, the unit will automatically restart without
requiring an external command. Nevertheless, any fault active
during power supply interruption will be saved, and in some
cases they can prevent a certain circuit or unit from restarting.

Respect the correct polarity when connecting the boards
to the power supply, otherwise boards may be damaged.
3.4.3
Light Emitting Diodes
All boards constantly control the electronic circuits indicating
their correct operation. A light emitting diode (LED) will light up
on each board when it works correctly.
Red LED
flashing for two seconds indicates correct operation. A
different interval indicates a board or software fault.
Green LED
flashing continuously on all boards indicates that
the system is communicating correctly with its internal bus (LEN
bus). If the green LED does not flash, it indicates that there is
a wiring problem of the LEN bus or a configuration problem.
