INSTALLATION
Find below the maximum water volume values compatible with the expansion tank in the hydronic kit calculated according to
the following conditions:
− static pressure
− fluid type (pure water, ethylene glycol in different concentrations).
Should the resulting volume be lower than the volume of the circuit installed, add an additional expansion tank.

Water connections
9
For the size and positioning of the water connections of
R
NXC-NXH, refer to the drawings supplied as standard
with the unit.
Prior to installation, it is recommended to thoroughly wash all
the system's pipes in order to eliminate any processing resi-
dues.
Find listed below some warnings and restrictions to be com-
plied with.
9
The selection and installation of the system's components
are the responsibility of the system's Installer, and must
be carried out in accordance with the standards of good
practice, as well as the current Legislation.
9
The safety valves' discharge must be connected to an ade-
quate collection and evacuation system. The device's man-
ufacturer is not responsible for any flooding caused by the
safety valves' intervention.
9
A unit by-pass should be made in order to wash the pipes
without having to disconnect the device.
9
The connection pipes must be of an adequate diameter,
and must be supported in such a way that their weight will
not be borne by the device.
9
Systems filled with anti-freeze or other particular sub-
stances required by law require the use of water backflow
preventers.
9
If some external water pipes of the unit go through an area
in which the ambient temperature can drop below 0°C, they
must be protected against frost with an anti-freeze solu-
tion or electric heaters. For the calculation of the required
glycol percentage, refer to the table in chapter "Shutdown
for extended periods".
9
Check the load losses of the device, the system, and of any
other accessories mounted on the line.
9
Do not use the heat pump to treat industrial process water,
swimming pool water, or domestic water. In each of these
cases, an intermediate heat exchanger must be installed.
In this case, be sure to respect the minimum water content
by incorporating an accumulation tank if necessary.
It is mandatory to:
− install a duly sized expansion tank if system water vol-
ume is higher than the maximum value listed in the ta-
bles in section "System water content and flow rate";
− for models without hydraulic module, install an extract-
able mesh water filter (of at least 10 meshes/sq.inch)
at device inlet in an area that is accessible for mainte-
nance, in order to protect the device against impurities
that may be present in the water;
− following the system's installation and after each repair,
thoroughly clean the entire system, paying particular at-
tention to the status of the filter;
− install air vent valves at the pipes' highest points;
− install flexible elastic joints to connect the pipes;
− in order to prevent the formation of ice during defrost-
ing operations, or the continuous modulation of the
compressor's frequency, make sure that the amount of
water in the primary circuit is greater than the minimum
volume indicated in the section "System water content
and flow rate";
− insulate cold water piping after carrying out a leak test
to prevent heat transmission and condensate formation.
0
It is forbidden to operate the unit without the water filter
installed and properly cleaned.
