Installation of the steering servo
-
Point the wheels in driving direction “straight”.
-
Place the servo shaft via the remote control transmitter in the neutral
position.
-
Push the steering servo (servo shaft towards the front) in the attach-
ments on the chassis of the RC mounting plate and
-
screw the steering servo with the plastic counter-pieces of the servo
fastening set (underneath the RC mounting plate).
-
Place the servo control lever vertically on the servo shaft in order to
establish a connection as straight as possible with the arm of the servo
saver without modifying the position of the wheels.
-
Screw the steering linkage at the servo control lever and on the arm of
the servo saver
Function control:
-
Support the model at the front in a way that allows the wheels to hang
freely.
Because of the good adhesion of the tires and because of the weight of the vehicle, in the stand and on the ground, the wheels will
not follow your steering spontaneously and directly.
This however changes during operation.
-
First, switch on the transmitter, then the receiver.
-
Move the steering wheel (channel 1) towards the right and the left.
Now the wheels must drive in towards the right and the left!
If the wheels turn in opposite direction, change the Servo Reverse on the remote control to position “REV” (Reverse).
-
Release the steering wheel;
now
the wheels must turn in straight line again.
-
If the wheels do not stand straight when the steering wheel of the remote control is in neutral position, correct
the position by adjusting the trim on channel 1.
The steering wheel limit stops must limit the right / left limit stops of the steering!

Mode of action and setting the throttle/brake linkage
With the throttle/brake linkage, two functions are carried out at the same time via two servo steering levers that are at 90° to each other.
Sliding the “carburetor slide” via the
throttle linkage
, regulates the air supply to the engine.
At the same time, the idle nozzle needle (conical needle of a needle valve) is moved, thus changing the amount of fuel that flows through the carbure-
tor. If the throttle linkage is moved further than the idle position (mechanical limit stop of the carburetor slide), the servo lever pushes against a spring
buffer. Now the sphere of action of the
brake linkage
comes to effect, it presses the brake shoes of the disk brake together via an eccentric tappet.
The position of the adjustment rings (the mechanical limit stops) of the stop spring on the throttle linkage and on the brake linkage
must be adjusted to the mechanical limit stops of the carburetor and the disk brakes.
Mounting the throttle/brake servos
-
Place the servo shaft with the help of the remote control transmitter in the neutral position
-
Place the servo, from the top, in the rear section of the servo mounting plate and screw it
with the plastic counter-pieces.
-
Servo shaft upwards and to the middle!
Check the idle position of the carburetor and, if necessary, re-adjust.
A visual check of the carburetor outlet is possible via the air intake opening before attaching the
air filter.
-
If necessary, reset the idle position (approx. 1 mm open carburetor outlet), by re-adjusting
the idle speed adjusting screw (= choke limit stop screw).
The idle speed adjusting screw is the small screw underneath the air intake opening.
