Evaporation ring minimizes measurement errors being a result of liquid evaporation occurring in the
course of the weighing process.
Prior pipettes calibration distilled water must be poured into the evaporation ring, the amount of water
cannot exceed 2/3 of the ring height.
The set may be operated after about an hour – this period of time is required for humidity
stabilisation. Remember to control the level of distilled water – surface of the vessel has to remain
covered with it. Excess of water may be removed by means of an automatic pump or an external
pipette.
In order to minimize both changes of moisture content inside the weighing chamber and negative
effect of air blows during opening the chamber door, the liquid has to be dosed by means of pipette
through an opening located in the top cover of the weighing chamber.
It is allowed to use a balance without a anti-draft chamber for pipettes calibration. For this reason
both the anti-draft chamber and frame must be dismounted (only XA.4Y.A series balances). For
instruction on anti-draft chamber disassembly read section 3, for instruction on frame disassembly
read below.
In order to remove frame undo 4 screws fixing it to the housing (see the picture). Now you can install
pipette calibration set, follow the above instruction.
