6 SYSTEM CONFIGURATION AND SETUP
Once you have familiarised yourself with the keypad and display you will find operation and set up quite
straight forward. The instrument can be set up from the front panel keys and display prompts following
the parameters as below.

Note:
Not all parameters apply to each model due to varying functions. Parameters are marked
WHEN NOT APPLICABLE TO ALL MODELS.
•
Set up menus consist of main blocks numbered with the first digit, sub blocks numbered with
the second digit and parameters numbered with the third digit. Main blocks in the programming
menu are displayed like
[1-- INTERFACE ]
where the first digit is the main block number.
Sub-blocks are displayed like
[11- RS232C-1 ]
with the second digit representing the sub-
block number. Parameters are located in the sub-blocks, identified by the 3
rd
digit, like
[111
FORMAT: CONT ]
.

Move up through the block numbers or parameter numbers with the
<UP>
or
<DOWN>
keys,
•
enter a block with the
<ENTER>
key,
•
exit a block (move up a level) with the
<ESC>
key,
•
enter a parameter to change the value with the
<ENTER>
or
<CHANGE>
key so the digits are
blinking or a prompt is displayed,
•
To change the parameter selection press the
<CHANGE>
key.
•
To set the value of a parameter use
<UP>
key to increase the value or press the
<DOWN>
key
to decrease the blinking digit and press the
<CHANGE>
key to select the digit to change.
Note:
For the PT620 and PT630 the numerical keypad can be used to enter values.

Accept the changed value or the prompt and move to the next parameter with the
<ENTER>
key,
•
move back up a block level by pressing the
[ESC]
key.
•
Press the
<ENTER>
,
<UP>
or
<DOWN>
keys to go to the following parameter.
For example to change the Baud rate of the RS485 serial interface to 57600;
1. After entering the programming mode, the
[1-- INTERFACE ]
sub-block prompt is seen. Press
the
<CHANGE>
key.
2. The
[11- RS232C.1 ]
prompt seen. Press the
<UP>
key until
[13- RS485 ]
is showing and press
the
<ENTER>
key.
3. The
[131 FORMAT: NO ]
prompt appears. Press the
<UP>
key until
[132 BAUD: 9600 ]
is seen
on the prompt.
4. Press the
<CHANGE>
key until
[132 BAUD: 57K6 ]
is seen on the prompt.
5. Press the
<UP>
key to go to the next parameter.
Note:
Legally related parameters can be changed if the calibration dip switch is in the ON position. The
values of these parameters are limited according to the requirements of the OIML, preventing incorrect
set up. Legally related parameters are marked by highlighting the parameter number, i.e. [513 PWR
ZERO].
