Loosen the one-way clutch tension at main tape tension adjustment.

Verify the cut-off knife blade is not dull.
a.
Replace the cut-off knife, if necessary.
7.
Check the tape quality and suitability for application.
8.
Verify the tape head is not too high about the box.
a.
Adjust the tape head so that it is 1/8" or less away from the top or
bottom of the box.
If there is ragged cut off of the tape tail …
Knife blades are extremely sharp. Contact with knife blades may
result in serious injury.
1.
Check the knife condition; verify the blade is sharp.
a.
Replace the cut-off knife, if necessary.
2.
Verify there is not tape or debris on the knife.
a.
Clean with solvent and a plastic scraper.
Never use a hard or metal object to clean the knife blades. Minor
damage to the sharp blade teeth may cause the blade to stop
cutting tape.
3.
Verify the blade is sufficiently extended as mounted in its holder.
a.
Adjust the blade position; ensure the blade does not interfere with blade
guard operation.
4.
Check for excessive or insufficient tape tension.

Verify the tape head is not too high about the box.
a.
Adjust the tape head so that it is 1/8" or less away from the top or
bottom of the box.
