If the tape end is folded over on itself (stuck sticky side to sticky side) ...
1.
Check for excessive tape tension.
a.
Pull the tape by hand to ensure it does not require excessive force to
unwind.
b.
Adjust at the adjustable hub brake an the main tape tension adjustment,
as necessary.
2.
Verify the red contact roller drag is properly working.
a.
It must easily turn, but not freely spin.
If the tape is not being cut …
1.
Verify the knife blade is sharp.
2.
Verify the knife blade is sufficiently extended as mounted in its holder.
a.
Adjust the knife blade position insuring it does not interfere with the
knife blade guards.
3.
Verify the tape head is not too high about the box.
a.
Adjust the tape head so that it is 1/8" or less away from the top or
bottom of the box.
4.
Check for soft box quality.
a.
Lessen roller contact pressure by adjusting the main wipe-down roller
spring force adjustment.
